Why Call It Ad Astra SKC?

‘Ad astra per aspera’ is the motto of the state of Kansas, home of Sporting Kansas City. It is Latin for “To the stars through difficulty.” I figured it was bit long to use the whole motto so I shortened it to the ultimate goal, getting another star on the crest of Sporting KC. Thus ‘Ad Astra SKC’ which roughly translates to 'To the stars, Sporting Kansas City.' I want to see a couple more stars above our crest in the next few years and we have the team to do it.
